The SBT Series extend Atlantic’s legacy for designing subwoofers, delivering power and impact without sacrificing detail and taking articulation to a new level. With dual woofers, higher-power and new digital circuit designs, the SBT series are engineered with the latest technology and finest components available to bring sonic performance to new levels of depth, power and clarity.

Our subs never fall into the "one-note bass boom" trap common in conventional subs. Instead of conventional "compressor-limiter" distortion-reduction, Atlantic employs its special Clear Filter Technology (or CFT) circuitry. This greatly enhances articulation and detail of instrumentation, vocals and special effects in upper bass and lower mid-range frequencies by reducing resonance colorations inherent to subwoofer enclosures in these octaves.

That’s why other subwoofers, regardless of their power ratings, can’t match the sound of an Atlantic subwoofer for detail and musical accuracy.

And with the SBT Series Subwoofers, Atlantic has improved CFT by designing a sophisticated new DSP circuit for the crossover, signal contouring and limiting to prevent over-excursion of the drivers and deliver a clear articulate performance.

• Dual long-throw composite cone bass drivers, each with a vented motor structure and high temperature, 2-inch, 4-layer voice coil. This powerful driver design has a very stiff cone that acts like a piston through its operating range. Its massive magnetic motor assembly and high temperature component parts deliver exceptional performance and reliability.
• Sealed, acoustic-suspension bass-alignment with a robust braced MDF enclosure. This delivers low distortion, superior transient response and extended deep bass output, resulting in Atlantic's renowned accurate musical bass reproduction with wide dynamic range for stunning special effects.
• High-efficiency 500 and 1000 watt amplifiers. The digital output stages are capable of very high current delivery for exceptional driver control and headroom while ensuring cool, reliable operation. Each amplifier is precision matched and equalized to its specific driver resulting in powerful, controlled bass with great articulation and authority.
• Volume control. Sets the subwoofer's overall output to match the sound level with the rest of the audio system.
• Continuous Adjustable 40 Hz to 140 Hz, 24dB per octave low pass crossover. The steep 24dB per octave slope allows for much better blending with the satellite speakers while making the woofer less localizable.
• Low Pass/Bypass Switch. The Low Pass setting sets the upper frequency limit of the subwoofer with the sub's adjustable crossover control. A Bypass setting is for processors and receivers with their own crossovers and low-pass outputs.
• EQ Switch. The Max SPL position provides stronger overall output with restricted deep bass output. The Max Range position provides deeper bass extension with restricted maximum overall output.
• Absolute Phase Invert Switch. This switches between normal or inverted phase to allow better acoustic matching and blending with satellite speaker systems. This switch also allows you to compensate for unusual room acoustics that occur when the woofer is physically separated from the main speakers by a significant distance.
• Choice of Line In and XLR inputs. Connect mono or stereo signals to line or XLR inputs for better rejection of hum and noise over longer cable runs for more flexible sub placement in larger rooms.
• Main Power/Automatic standby. The three position power switch (on/off/standby) gives users operational flexibility. Automatic standby senses a signal presence to turn the subwoofer on. It automatically turns back to standby with a 7 to 10 minute delay when no signal is present.
• LED Status Indicators: The multi-color power indicator LED located on the amplifier panel glows green when on, yellow in standby and red when off.
• 110-120/220-240V (50/60Hz) Input Voltage Switch. Allows for international use with industry standard user detachable cables connecting to the sub's IEC-320-13 power input socket.

This all-new speaker design features internally braced non-resonant MDF cabinets housing seven new state-of-the art Atlantic Technology drivers configured in a D'Appolito/M-T-M array; four 8-inch fiberglass woofers, two 5.25-inch fiberglass mid-drivers, and an advanced 1-inch aluminum/magnesium dome tweeter with a powerful neodymium magnet structure. The midrange and tweeter drivers are internally isolated within their own airtight sub-enclosure.

The cross-over is a 4th order Butterworth asymmetrical time-aligned Linkwitz-Riley design with bi-wire inputs. A high-sensitivity spec of 91 dB with power handling of up to 300 watts per speaker makes the 8600's perfect for very high-performance 2-channel and home theater systems.

The 8600eLR can be tuned to any room with the rear mounted acoustic optimization controls to minimize detrimental effects of speaker placement and room acoustics.

• A 3-position High Frequency Energy switch changes the tilt of the tweeters response, not simply how loudly the tweeter plays but allows matching the speaker's response to different room environments. Whether you have an acoustically live (highly reflective) or dead (highly absorptive) room, you can correct for varying acoustics.
• A Location Selector switch shelves up both the upper midrange and the high frequency output to compensate for being located behind a perforated screen or theater curtains, providing improved detail at the listening position.
• A Boundary Compensation control adjusts the lower midrange to minimize the sound colorations caused by placing the speakers in custom cabinets or directly adjacent to a TV, delivering open and natural sound.

The 8600eLR's can be used alone in a two-channel system, installed in custom cabinetry behind an acoustically-transparent screen or curtains and they can be used in any multi-channel configuration. For 7.1 systems, we recommend another set of LR's for the back channels or mixed and matched with Atlantic Technology components from the 8200 Series for center, rear and surround speakers. To complete a multi-channel system an additional 642eSB, SBT500 or SBT1000 subwoofer is recommended.

The cabinet's side panels are finished in a luxurious Gloss Black or Makssar Ebony painted finish. To complete the look, a beveled smoked glass top is also included.

Our ultra-high performance center channel speaker is designed for uncompromising large-room surround sound systems

The center channel in a surround sound system is a critical component to deliver dialogue, music, and special effects with such accuracy you will hear every nuance no matter what the source. Our new 8600eC center channel speaker employs a set of seven drivers, crossover, bi-wire capability and acoustic optimization controls matched to our 8600eLR floor-standing LR speakers, so sounds move seamlessly across the front channels.

The 8600eC can be placed above, below or behind an acoustically transparent projection screen. It incorporates the trademark Atlantic pivoting base which tilts the 8600eC up or down so its sound is optimized to the listener's seating position. Built-in compensation controls* further optimize the system for any placement and room acoustics for the ultimate in flexibility and performance for today's high-end installations.

With the design of the 8600e series, Atlantic Technology set new standards for performance. By implementing new driver technology in an all-new configuration, we have developed a no-compromise surround sound speaker system able to deliver superb performance in a wide variety of acoustic settings.

This all-new speaker design of the 8600eC features internally braced .75-inch thick non-resonant MDF cabinets housing seven new state-of-the art Atlantic Technology drivers configured in a D'Appolito/M-T-M array; four 6.5-inch fiberglass woofers, two 5.25-inch fiberglass mid-drivers, and an advanced 1-inch aluminum/magnesium dome tweeter with a powerful neodymium magnet structure. The midrange and tweeter drivers are internally isolated within their own airtight sub-enclosure.

Critical to a center channel's performance is dialog intelligibility. Loudspeaker brands employing a D'Appolito/M-T-M array in a system will often arrange the center channel M-T-M speakers in a symmetrical or horizontal arrangement rather than matching the correct vertical D'Appolito/M-T-M array of the L/R speakers. Unfortunately, the symmetrical arrangement creates undesirable audible comb-filtering effects which cause the dialog intelligibility to change across listener seating positions. The 8600eC D'Appolito/M-T-M array retains the same critical vertical alignment as the 8600eLR L/R channels so that listeners in all positions get the clearest, best un-compromised sound quality.

Like the 8600e LR's, the cross-over is a 4th order Butterworth asymmetrical time-aligned Linkwitz-Riley design with bi-wire inputs to maximize efficient power transfer and maintain optimum amplifier damping factor for the best bass control. 24K gold-plated terminals accept and tightly secure very large gauge speaker cable and also accept banana plugs. 24K gold-plated terminal jumper links are used when bi-wiring is not employed. A high-sensitivity spec of 93 dB with power handling of up to 300-watts makes the 8600eC perfect for very high-performance, large-room home theater systems.
