Stewart Filmscreen's Director's Choice 4-Way Variable Masking projector screen is a fixed screen model capable of displaying several aspect ratios, from HD 16:9 to the cinematic 2.35:1 Cinemascope format.
The unique design of the Director's Choice 4-Way Variable Masking utilizes electronically controlled vertical and horizontal mask panels to resize the viewing area, which eliminates empty screen areas and gives you a perfect picture.
Director's Choice is the pinnacle statement for cinema presentation. Four, individually motorized masking panels move flawlessly across the screen as directed by the supplied digital system controller, or via interface with a third party control system of your choice. Any aspect ratio can be stored at any scale via independently joggable masking fabrics. You can specify any aspect ratio as the native "all open" image area and exactly pair the screen to your choice of projector. Any Stewart front projection 16K+ screen fabric can be selected as well as MicroPerf X² THX Ultra for sound transparency. The fascia is finished in a luxurious black Velux covering, and all masking fabric options have been carefully sourced to complete this stunning machine.
This is a great screen if your movie collection includes 16:9 (HDTV and Blu-Ray) and 2.35:1 Cinemascope format movies. Enjoy any kind of media without feeling like you're compromising between the screen shape and a varied collection of films.
