Stewart's ingenious Cine-V is a fixed curve screen for those who wish for the ultimate in screen ratio flexibility. Horizontal side panels descend on the left and right sides of the viewing area to create a screen with a 2.35:1 (Cinemascope) or 16.9 (widescreen) viewing area. This versatility makes the Cine-V a great choice no matter what ratio your movie, game or show is originally presented in.
The screen's vertical height remains consistent, while two electronically-controlled black mask panels move down from above the sides of the screen. The Cine-V can be configured with any of Stewart’s stellar projection
screen materials, and Stewart's proprietary snap fastener screen tension system ensures a flawlessly smooth screen for a perfect image. The Stewart VeLux™ finish of the edges further improves quality by absorbing excess projection or "over-scan" and adding to visual contrast.
The primary difference between the Cine-V and CineCurve are that the masking of the Cine-V drops down from the top of the screen, like closing blind, while the CineCurve's masking comes in from the side, like closing curtains. Also, the CineCurve features an IR remote, whereas the Cine-V uses 12v control triggers. Finally, the Cine-V does not include 4:3 ratio capability (this isn't a big problem, as NTSC 4:3 ratio entertainment is getting hard to find).
