HTDesign Pembroke Seats Unbox

HTDesign packs its home theater seating in very sturdy boxes with multiple layers of packing material. We want to make sure your seating arrives in top condition. Our video shows how to remove the seat safely from the carton. There is one seat per carton including the bottom of the seat and the back of the chair. This makes it easy to ship and set up in your home. We show you the layers of packing material in the box and what is included in the box.

HTDesign Pembroke Seating Set Up

In this video we show how easy it is to set up and install your HTDesign theater seating. In this example, we show the Pembroke model being set up. The set up is easy as in each box you will get everything you need to set up the chair. The box includes a bottom of one seat and the back of the chair. In the power chairs we include power cords and transformer. You simply tip the chair and unravel the cord and plug into the wall. Watch for yourself.

I purchased six Pembrokes for my home theater. We live a few hours away and visited the store. Alan was fabulous and suggested the Hamiltons which were actually slightly less money, but for the slight difference we went with the Pembrokes for the powered headrest. The Pembrokes are very comfortable and immediately showed how bad my current chairs were.

I do love the chairs but hindsight being 20/20, I should have upgraded to the Clarks with their memory and home buttons. That chair has lumbar and for a very big dude like me, it just cradled me.

Amazing seats for our home theater!

We we did our basement last year into a Theater, and bar/lounge with pool table. Everything turned out amazing, but the Pembroke chairs from HT Market was the perfect finishing touch!! Everyone comments on the rest of the basement, but once they sit in the chairs they fall in love!!

Customer service from Tom before the sale was TOP NOTCH as well!! Tom took the time to explain everything on various seats, provide measurements for our setup, and met with us in person
so we could try a few different seats. In the end, the full power Pembroke Seats (with power headrest) won me over!! Couldn't be happier!

the light underneath the seats are too bright. When they are on, the blue light messes with your screen colors. But with a quick SNIP i clipped the wires, so the cup holders still light up but not the lights underneath. wish there was an accessible wire connector to just unplug, should we ever want to reconnect, vs stripping wires and reconnecting, a plug would be more convenient that's all.

Amazing chairs, too bright for a home theater setting, but fixable

I really do love these chairs. I purchase six of these in Feb 2020 and now 9 months later I am glad I did and would do it all over again. I much prefer the cup-holder controls for reclining that these chairs have compared to the other hidden control styles.

These seats are very wide and spacious. I am 6'2" about 190lbs - pretty slim and I have a substantial amount of space. Even big boys will have no problem getting comfortable. I went to see Tenet in the theaters not too long ago and it was my first theater experience since buying these chairs. The first thing I noticed was how much smaller the Movie theater seats are compared to mine. I love the roominess these seats offer.

They are very well padded in the seat, lumbar and headrest. I wish there was a bit more cushioning at the feet because the back of my heel often rests on the hard edge of the footrest.

My only gripe is the lighting - all of it. The floor lighting, the cup holder lighting, and the LEDs for the controls are all way, way too bright. I gave this review 4 stars because I put about 2 hours of work reducing the light output of each chair. This included unplugging the floor lighting, removing the cup holder and disconnecting its light, as well as disassembling the controls in order to put tint on those LEDs directly. (Trying to use blackout stickers on the controls themselves did not look good.) But now that those issues are solved these chairs are near perfect.

Lastly, I wish there was a bracket system to physically connect the chairs. I have them on hardwood and they easily slide away from each other without much force.

I love these chairs and I am so glad I bought them when I did! 2020 has been the year of movies thanks to these.

We finally decided to update our theater room.
We decided on seven Pembroke chairs we purchased from HT Market.
The chairs seem to be well made and are very comfortable.
As you can see from all of the other reviews, these chairs look fantastic.

Had one little issue that was taken care of by Tom who was very knowledgeable. Troubleshot the problem in a couple of minutes.

Customer service so has been great.
Always happily answered my questions and concerns.

Time will be the real test. I hope to follow up on the chairs in the future with a good review.

Cup holder light controls are a bit bright.
Floor lights and cup holder lights are too bright to use while watching a movie.
Really though any light during a movie isn't ideal but I wouldn't mind being able to leave one of the chair lights on to light the step for the riser.
If they could make all of the lights controllable or less bright, it would be perfect.
You can see wipe marks in tables after cleaning. Not deep scratches, just faint ones. This is due to the material chosen. A matt finish would probably be better.

It is rare that a buying experience exceeds my expectations. This was one of those rare cases. The folks at HTMarket/HTDesign were very responsive and went out of their way to make sure we made the right choice that fit our requirements in home theater seating. We ordered our 8 Pembroke seats (two rows of 4 seats each) right before we went on vacation so needed to delay shipment until we returned. The folks at HTMarket/HTDesign made sure that our seats shipped out at the right time so they would arrive after we returned. The shipping, delivery, and installation all went very smoothly without any problems. The seats themselves are even better than we expected. The leather is buttery soft and the seats are incredibly comfortable. Power recline is a must have but I wasn't so sure about the powered headrest. Now that we have used them for a bit I am very glad we went with the powered headrest. It really does allow you to adjust everything to that "perfect" position.

If you are hesitating at all, don't! Each and every seat was flawless and works perfectly. They are literally the most comfortable seats I have ever owned. The only problem now is that these seats are so comfortable I literally don't want to sit anywhere else.

So comfortable I slept it in for 4 weeks....

I purchased two chairs to test as we build our home theater. Unfortunately I had a bicycle accident and broke 4 ribs on my backside. When I returned from the hospital I found I could not sleep in my bed as the pain was too much. We tried every chair and couch in the house but none were comfortable until I sat in the Pembroke. I could finally sleep and did so for 4 weeks.

The power headrest allowed me to get the perfect angle for my head and the power recline was awesome to get in and out of "bed" with a minimum of pain. I'm 6'2" and weigh 230lbs and the chair was very comfortable and I beat the heck out of it for 4 weeks getting up and down every few hours at night.

Now that I've slept in a Pembroke for 4 weeks, I don't need to look at any other seat for my newly finished home theater. I just placed my order for more seats! Thank you HT!

Very nice, roomy seat.

We purchased one Penbroke and one Belmont two-arm recliner for our livingroom. My husband tried one recliner after another and could not find a recliner to fit his long legs, so when we ordered these two HTmarket chairs he chose the Penbroke because it stretched out an inch further than the Belmont, and the Penbroke fits him well. The seat on the Penbroke sits higher - not far below the arms. One thing that surprised us was that one arm storage is deep and holds the tray table, and the other is shallow, which is nice for the remote. These chairs are very well designed and we really love them. The Penbroke is larger and more blocky looking - not quite as nice looking in the livingroom as a recliner as what the Belmont does.

I feel the price is fair. The leather is awesome. Be warned that when our two chairs arrived they both needed some of the wiring connected underneath. Easy to do, just makes your heart skip a beat when not all the lights come on for the first time. Great customer service!

Pembrokes look great in Brown!

My wife and I went to the HT Marketplace showroom in March to see the chairs in person. So glad we did. Got a much better feel for how each chair fit us individually. TJ was very helpful and spent a great deal of time answering all of our questions and explaining the virtues of each design. In the end we both agreed the Pembrokes were right for us. Wanted them in brown and was told it would be a special order and would be about 8 weeks to get them. That put delivery in the first week of June. But, had a pleasant surprise when they arrived in Chicago on Tuesday, 5/15, and they were delivered on Friday, almost 3 weeks early. Had to unbox them in the garage and move each piece in separately, as the large box they came in definitely would not fit thru a standard doorway. Also, they are quite heavy, so another hand or two is definitely helpful. Assembly was quite easy and in an hour or so I was ready to sit down and start movie binging! These chairs are extremely comfortable, especially with the power head rest. Nice to be able to adjust the angle during a movie if you want to change positions slightly. I ordered two individual chairs to give more flexibility to arrange them in my limited seating area. With sliders under the feet they are quite easy to move around. Bottomline, we are extremely satisfied with the service from HT Designs and the quality and comfort of the Pembrokes, Would highly recommend them.

Awsome Seats

We looked for theater seating in the Houston area for about six months. Selections were very limited so we decided to look via the internet. Even though prices were cheaper online, we were afraid of buying a big ticket item witbout being able to actually see it in person. We are super glad we did! We decided to go with HT because of their very informative website, their how to videos, and the positive feedback that others provided. Tom and TJ provided outstanding professional customer service from beginning to end. We have had the seats for over a couple of months now and we have no complaints. They are super comfortable, we sit and binge watch for an entire day without aches or comfort problems. In fact, one of us falls asleep in them everytime we're on them for an extended period of time. Everyone that comes over have nothing but good things to say about them. The best thing of all is that HTs prices cannot be beat. We were looking at almost the exact type of chairs from billiard factory for twice the price. If you are in the market, HT is the way to go. Thank you so much Tom and TJ.

Great Seats and Great Service

My experience with HT Market has been great. After a lot of research, we decided on 8 Pembroke seats. I actually arranged a visit a year ago when I was in the area and met with Tom to see them in person. Tom was very helpful. It then took over a year to get our theater designed and built. Tom answered all my questions promptly along the way. When the builder made a mistake that set us back several weeks, Tom offered to hold onto the seats for us until we were ready! It really helped us out as I didn't have much space to store 8 seats. My family loves the seats! My daughter and I recently went to our local theater to see a movie and she commented that our seats are more comfortable than their loungers. I have to agree. The quality is much better than what I found at most of our local furniture stores. The price was great also. Overall I'm very pleased with our purchase and the support Tom gave me. I'd definitely recommend them to anyone looking to invest in some quality home theater seating.

Top Notch Seats at a Great Price

My wife and I had initially set our sights on another name brand seat sold by a local retailer as it was really the only option available locally. I was doing some research on them and ran across HT Market and the number of positive reviews on their seats. I was a little hesitant about ordering something I'd never sat in but I looked at the specs compared to what my wife and I had initially picked out and the Pembrokes were a little larger. This is good as I am 6'3" and the other chairs we had looked at hit me wrong in the shoulder and neck area. These seats fit me and my family great. They have plenty of room and don't leave my head hanging off the top of the headrest.

I ordered my seats prior to the end of the year knowing that they would not be in-stock until January. After I placed my order I promptly received notification that they were not in stock and I was asked if I wanted to continue with the purchase (because my credit card would be charged). I really appreciate this kind of follow up and responsiveness and Tom was very responsive during the entire process. I was told my seats would be at the warehouse in January and the Monday morning after they arrived they shipped out. I had them by the end of the week.

The reviews I read about these seats and the company were spot on. These are great seats at a fantastic price and excellent customer service during the entire process.

Great chairs - getting them a bit of a hassle.

Overall the experience was good. The chairs are gorgeous, a real stunner. The initial ordering was easy. There were some issues with the freight company and the white glove agent - so I didn't end up getting my white-glove delivery, but, that ended up being ok. The only thing I would knock is the communication from the HTMarket team. I would call and ask a question and request a call back, and, inevitably I would have to follow up because I didn't get a response. Eventually we got it worked out and I got the chairs.

I've had groups of people of all shapes and sizes in my theater since I bought them and everyone says how much they love them.

Merchant Response:Delivery is usually better for most orders, in this case, the customer lives in Isolated delivery area, so our delivery company had the chairs allocated to a delivery agent over 100 miles away and they could not make Christmas delivery with the volume of goods they had, so were able to reconsign the chairs to another company to deliver before Christmas but no white glove was available to do in that timeframe. It's best to allow up to 3 to 4 weeks for white glove delivery, curbside is about 2 weeks.

Pembroke was a great choice for our home theater

I think like most people, it was a little nerve-wracking to hit that submit button on the seat order. It is difficult to spend thousands of dollars on items you haven't actually physically touched. I am glad to say, that it worked out well for us and we are thrilled with the comfort and quality of our seating. The fit and finish is great and guests have already commented on the high quality look. I have sat in them for up to 2.5 hours without a break experiencing no discomfort at all. I am 5'6" tall, and weigh around 225. The headrest is fabulous and really makes it easy to find the ideal comfortable angle to recline and watch. The controls are smooth, operation is easy and intuitive. I have a row of three, and am about to order a second row of three.

Pros

Reasonable shipping time and great packaging (although someone had run a forklift tine through a box, just missed the seat bottom!)
Easy, easy to set-up. Took all of 15 minutes for three seats.
Great look and feel.
Excellent reclining and headrest control to find the ideal sweet spot.
Found the customer service to be personable and responsive.

Cons

I wish you offered the option of ordering a separate matching riser base that could be added for back-rows. I don't like the look of risers in my theater and wish I had the option of a taller back-row as some other manufacturers offer. I am only 66" tall and have no issue with getting into the chair at current height and I think would be okay with 6 more inches added. I am going to build one myself at the same dimensions as the chairs and cover it in black texture vinyl.
I would have liked a strapping or connection system to hook the chairs together as a single row. They have not moved much since set-up, but I have kids that will probably be testing the chairs limits!
Not really a negative, but it would be nice if there was some sort of distribution box for the AC wiring incorporated so that you could have one cord power all chairs, but I will just be using a power-strip hidden under the chairs.

Great Seats!

I have had these seats a few months now. I looked for 2 months online and locally, before I purchased 4 of these seats. Wanted the power recline, power headrest and leather. Could not find this kind of value and quality anywhere! Very glad I purchased them. I am an engineer and these seats are very well built. Shipping was about 5 days. My family and I love the seats.

Very comfortable. Infinite relcine positions. Bright LED's. Good quality leather and well built.

Pembroke chairs from HT Design

The Pembroke chairs are amazing. Big hit with everyone who has sat in them. Shipping from HT Design was very fast in my case (3 days) TJ was a great help! He took the time in the showroom to go over all the chairs they sell. Everyone has different body types, and for us the Pembroke were a perfect choice. Thanks again TJ and HT designs!!

Superb Customer Service / Overall HT Market Experience!

The construction of our bonus room is still in progress (thus our chairs are still in their boxes), but wanted to go ahead and get out a review for anyone on the fence about doing business with HT!

My wife and I had been on the market looking for HT furniture since back in Dec. and had all but decided on another vendor when at the 11th hour, we saw some unfavorable reviews which sent us into a panic for another supplier. Luckily, our new search brought us to HT Market and we were very impressed with not only the available models they offered (power recline, headrest were a must) but also the overall presentation of their website. We loved that they had multiple photos to accompany each model and then the great supporting videos which covered everything from product overview to VoD installation instructions.

All it took to solidify our choice was seeing the multi-pages worth of HT Market (Alan Hutchinson in particular) social presence on HT message boards to know we were dealing with a very open, honest, and customer first vendor which made our purchase a no-brainer. Alan & TJ were quick to response to our inquires via both email and phone and when I needed my order held for a couple weeks (we purchased in Jan but added for a delayed shipment of mid-Feb), everything was setup and coordinated just as discussed without any complications or back-and-forth issues. They were also very responsive to a "My Rewards" hiccup that occurred during my order as well and were prompt in both resolving the matter and keeping me up to date on its status.

Superb Customer Service / Experience over all from this very satisfied customer! Once our room has been completed and we have setup our new chairs, I will be sure to update this review.

love this chair

set this up yesterday, ridiculously heavy chair even out of he box and separated(but once in place its not going anywhere), but probably the most comfortable chair i've ever owned(granted ive been using a futon as my main couch for the past decade) the 7000 leather is soft right out of the box, and the power headrest is great. my only gripe is when reclined the LED on the bottom is too bright but is fine when the chair is upright. also be advised that one storage arm is shallower than the other so only one can have a tray table in it and the other is probably for the remote(but i keep it in the cup holder)

These are awesome and better than I expected! They do sit a bit high but everyone ends up putting their feet up anyways. ; Powered head rests are the way to go. Alan and customer service is top notch. Great deal!
