Very happy with my seats, 2+ years and counting

A little more than two years after taking delivery of my 4 HTDesign Waveland seats (love seat in middle), I wanted to share a review. I did a lot of research before deciding which seats to purchase.. including traveling thousands of miles to try multiple seats in person.

I am VERY happy with my decision! The no-pressure sales process was smooth and Alan was a gracious host when I flew to Chicago to visit the HT showroom. Delivery went as expected and my impressions while shopping panned out in the long run. I have had NO problems with the seats at all. They still look good as new, are very comfortable, and are one of the biggest highlights when I have people over. "My" seat gets far more use than the other 3 seats, but you can't even tell which seat that is.. I attached a photo showing them in my man cave.

I find my Waveland seats to be VERY comfortable to sit in for long periods of time.. just as comfortable today as the day I set them up. I'm actually sitting in them as I post this. I definitely appreciate the placement of the controls on the cup holder, right where your hand naturally rests.. it's very easy to make adjustments, even in the dark.

They look good as new and are just as comfortable today as they were on Day 1. I am very happy and impressed with how they have held their comfort and support. Sitting in "my" seat versus one of the seats that is used far less often is hardly noticeable -- if anything, I prefer the very slight, hardly noticeable break-in "my" seat has compared to the other 3. I have had absolutely no issues at all, and they have held up just fine to my young nephew's messes and occasional leaps out of his seat with the footrest fully extended. If a warranty issue arose, I am confident that Alan/HT would handle it appropriately.

So overall, 2+ years in, I am VERY happy with my decision and would buy the Waveland again without hesitation. Alan and his people were excellent to deal with and the product is fantastic.. it was exactly what I hoped for when I started shopping.

The only "regret" I have--and it's very nit-picky--is my choice to go with the center love seat configuration with the removable arm rest. I knew it wouldn't be the same as a regular arm rest, but I didn't think it through enough. It's a great option if you want the love seat, which I thought I did -- but my personal real-world usage has been 99% with the removable arm rest in place. It's not a problem, I would just get full arms if I had the chance to do it over again because it makes more sense based on my situation and available space.

I’ve had the Waveland for two months now. I’ve purchase six seats, two rows of three seats. I wanted to give the seats some good usage and have been using them almost every day, before posting this review.

The seats are perfect and made very well. The leather feels good with the right amount of softness and support. I’m impress with the quality and they look great. I would definitely purchase more in a heartbeat.

I have no doubt they will give me years of comfort. Great job HTmarket!!!

Incredibly Comfortable Seats

If you're looking for Home Theater seats, stop searching and get these. Shortly after I got them I had my parents over; my mom declared them the most comfortable seat she has ever sat in and my dad said they were even more comfortable than the reclining seats at dine-in movie theaters. I'm really happy with the comfort and quality of these seats and Thomas at HTMarket had great communication throughout the process.

Compared to our last theater seats, these are a game changer! My wife instantly complimented how soft and more cushioned they are versus what we had before.

The controls being at the edge of the armrest are much more convenient rather than mounted on the side next to your leg. I’ve read that the lumbar takes longer to adjust just because it's more of an inflating balloon, but I didn’t see that to be a concern at all. It fills up fairly quick and deflates just as fast as you need it to.

The stitching is also top notch. The design has the ability to mentally prepare the mind that you’re getting ready for a fully immersive theatrical experience while also applying class.

And my favorite part is not only the ability to change the color of the LED’s, but also being able to power all of them off including those in the switch panel. No more lights distracting the eyes in a dark room!

Excellent Seats and Customer Service

After going back and forth on whether or not to go with some of the other seating brands out there, I decided to go with the HT Design Waveland, and could not be happier with my purchase. Before I even get the to seats, the customer service that Alan provides is second to none. All of my questions were responded to very quickly, and even after my purchase Alan has continued to help with everything that I have needed assistance with. I highly doubt that customer service from any of the other big brands would compare.

The seats are excellent and very well made. The leather is soft, and the seats are very comfortable; they are more firm than the La-Z-Boy recliners that I have upstairs in my living room, and after sitting in both I very much prefer the Waveland. The pricing was very reasonable and every seat came with a complimentary tray table. I highly recommend these seats. My theater room is still in progress, but attached are some pictures of the seats in the room.

HT Design Waveland Home Theater Seating is absolutely exactly what we envisioned for our theater, we added the special Hollywood industrial carpeting, wine glass holders, laptop stand, received a food tray for all 4 seats, and the 5yr warranty......the maximum Top Grain Leather at the highest level made the seats easy to care for and clean with the professional leather care kit.

The seats have all of the features, multicolored led seat lighting, glowing cup holders with usb ports on every seat, the arms for storage are perfect ....

what i added..... i have mini remote holders put inside, shelfs, and i added white led lighting.....so when the command chair raises its arm all of the inside arm white led lighting powers up by internal motion and light sensor by philips hue scene. philips hue lights change to white to lighten the theater, then after t0 seconds they dim down to a blue purple hue all around the entire theater!! infrasound transducers are connected to an earthquake amplifier that hits the seats with dolby atmos and 2 thx monolith subwoofers, 7.2.2 denon x4300 amplifier, 7 KEF series , monolith thx channel qty 2 subwoofer, 2 atmos speakers upward firing by klipsch

It is a star wars-style theater, so when the arms light up the deathstar computer panel lights up next to the galactic library of 800 movies on white vertical ikea shelves....

for the HT Design seats other features that came with it is auto led turn off, electric lumbar bladders in every seat, adjustable head and neck, reclining flat to the wall and this is 4 seats in a slight curve theater 55" sony 3d tv, and the room is 14x14 with dedicated refrigerated are by midea ac.

when the seats recline the white led lighting in each arm is connected thru the seats and never disconnects......the grommets have iphone, ipad, laptop and those 4 mini tables....solid steel for grommets.....and every table easily stored in either a taken apart grommet configuration or as is, leave grommet screwed into table

the seat recline almost silent, have manual adjustments that are power recliner continuous for the perfect recline PLUS a memory button you press and hold and the seat memorizes everything, including the final recline position, lumbar, headrest and neck, everything as programmed by the led lit glowing buttons for in the dark.....glowing star wars galaxies-like computer panels and wall light switches.....sometimes wish the leather seating was white like the empire color scheme....but the black in a totally white room works perfect 2.

everything, HT Design delivered it all, exceeding any local cineplex dolby atmos theater......the sound levels are below reference levels at home unlike the cineplex with sticky floors, too loud dolby atmos hurts hearing, cannot pause the movie, people take calls in movie and tall people sit right in front of you, and the cineplex ac seems to be off......dim lit movie screen
having infinite popcorn at home with ice cold colas sure beats the theater airport pricing.....lastly we are thinking of buying a popcorn machine, add a marquee outside the theater
the digital lock for our theater locks like a vaulted safe room.....qty 3 atmoph window 2 star wars edition are above the 55" screen as a imperial cruiser flight deck.......death star above a planet and cruisers and tie fighters passing by with sound if you like that....
lastly the biggest pro is that HT Design is highly responsive,,positive attitude, professional employees....i forgot i had already bought the 5 yr warranty.....ordered it, then saw it came with the seats.....HT Design Team refunded the $189 order i made by accident last night.

Working with Alan to select and purchase my theater seats was an awesome experience. He quickly answered all the questions I had and helped to select the right size seats for my family. Shipping was fast arriving at my house about 7 days after they were purchased. Boxes were a little beat up, but seats themselves were in perfect condition. Seats fit me perfectly at 6'-0" tall.

HT Design Waveland Home Theater Seats - Just what I've always wanted

I have been wanting something like this for years and now I have it and am not disappointed. Quality leather, power lumbar and headrest. I just love having the controls located around the cupholders on top of the arm as apposed to on the outside or inside, which I've had in the past on my other recliners. The leather is very durable and I love the new leather smell. I've had more costlier leather chairs in the past and although they were comfortable, the leather didn't feel as good and the control for reclining was located on the outside of the arm which made reaching them difficult when in any reclining position. I would have to try and raise up(good ab exercise) to reach it. Lastly, the tray and usb charging port is a big plus.

HT Design Waveland Home Theater Seats - Excellent Choice

I definitely recommend the Waveland theater seats for anyone looking to enjoy so many features for a reasonable price. What more could you ask for with built-in cup holder, tray table, 7 choices of fancy lighting, lumbar support, and easy recline on luxurious material? I didn't even know about the built-in risers, which eliminated the need for me to hire a carpenter to build a floor riser and displace existing carpet. The customized built-in riser order took longer but definitely worth the wait and savings!

Love the Chairs

Bought 8 Waveland chairs - very soft and comfortable. My kids love all of the LED color options and dimmer options. Still have to finish setting up my theatre room but we already just go down and sit in the chairs because they are so nice and comfortable - I'm very glad I spent the extra to get the Waveland.

If there's any cons about the only one I have is the lower lumbar bladder is quite slow to fill up and you don't really know when to stop - mechanical lumbar has a start and stop but this chair has a bladder that fills with air which is a nicer lumbar option and is much more comfortable but you just don't know where to start and stop filling it.

Enjoying these chairs every evening

I have had these chairs in my home for a couple of weeks now and I want to give a review. These chairs continue to be a pleasure to see each time I walk into the room they are in. They look awesome. They are very comfortable and it isn't any trouble to talk my teenagers into hanging out for some screen time in the evenings. I initially ordered four single chairs and I was pleased enough with them that I have ordered another eight. That should give you some idea how much I like them. :-)

Merchant Response:Thanks for the review and your new order. Part of the reason of delay was Covid supply issues, and you order 2 arm seats which we had to adjust incoming orders to accommodate. Most of the time we ship quickly if you order in rows of 3 or 4.

Pros

They look really impressive and they are very comfortable. I find that I am using the headrest more than the lumbar support but I am glad the chairs have both features. The LED lighting looks really cool when you enter the room but when the movie comes on we typically turn them off or dim them down. Having the ability to dim them is really useful otherwise they distract from the screen. The tables are an excellent addition an they are getting used frequently.

Cons

Shipping time. If I had ordered the connected curved models I suspect the shipping would have been quicker but because I ordered singles the shipping took longer. I have placed a second order for more chairs and I have more reasonable expectations about the delivery time. So far the delivery speed is my only complaint about the chairs.

I've had several seats from Berkline to online stores. I've sat in dozens. First impressions are these are among the best I've owned and tried out.

The leather is very nice and soft but not thin like some seats I've had. The leather feels thick like it'll hold up much better than say my Berklines that honestly looked worn in a year and it was evident which ones were used the most.

The seats are built like tanks and quite heavy. Motors are very smooth and quick. I hate slow motors and I have had them in the past. Thankfully these are not slow.

My last few seats I've owned had USB as do these. The previous seats had frankly useless USB ports that would slow charge. These cable charge which is almost as fast as quick charging. This is a big deal for us as we can finally actually use the USB ports.

The Lumbar using an air filled bladder is slower than mechanical lumbars but it's to be expected as it's filling a bladder with air. It's not as punch you in the back as some of the mechanical ones that are more pin point pressure. It's a nice even stretch across the lumbar. I actually use the lumbar feature a lot.

The buttons! I've never had seats with buttons on the cupholder before. I gotta say I do like it better than the ones on the side. The memory function is just awesome. Plop down hit the button and it puts me right in my perfect position. I wish all seats had this. Holding down the two left button at the same time puts it into a home position which also brings in the headrest. I'm kinda picky about seats that are all upright but the headrest are all over the place. The home function helps with my OSD. :).

The lights are pretty cool. Especially the ability to change colors. In the past I've had seats that had LEDs that could not be turned off. For instance The switch backlighting and or cupholders would stay on which is not a good thing in a dark HT. It's so distracting. Thankfully these can be turned fully off so no LEDs are on. The buttons aren't backlit but it's easy to remember what's what and they are easy to find being at the base of the cup holder. The backlit LED controllers I've had were on the side of the arms so you literally had to hunt for them which is why I guess they back light them.

Tray tables being included is also a nice touch. I also got the tablet holder which holds tight and holds it's angle. It feels very well made.

The wine glass holder is very nice and well made.

The dummy arm is something I've wanted for years. We always get the love seat configurations but it's nice to have the extra arm when you want it. Like everything else it seems to be made to last.

It's very evident quality is important to Allen and HTmarket. I've sat in so many HT seats and I'm very impressed with the Wavelands!
